🚨 BREAKING: The House Oversight Committee is now moving to hold BILL CLINTON in CONTEMPT of Congress after he refused to testify in the Epstein investigation
“We WILL move to hold Clinton in contempt!”
NOBODY is above the law.
**WASHINGTON —** The Republican-led House Oversight Committee is preparing to move forward with a contempt of Congress resolution against former President **Bill Clinton** after he did not appear for a scheduled deposition connected to the committee’s ongoing **Jeffrey Epstein** investigation. ([Axios][1])
Chairman **Rep. James Comer (R-Ky.)** and other committee Republicans have grown increasingly frustrated after months of trying to secure testimony from Clinton and former Secretary of State **Hillary Clinton**. Both were subpoenaed last year for closed-door depositions as part of a broader effort to examine the network of associates surrounding Epstein, the convicted sex offender who died in 2019. Clinton did not appear Tuesday for his deposition, prompting Comer to say the committee will advance contempt proceedings — a rarely used congressional enforcement tool — against the former president. Once approved by the Oversight panel, the measure would need a vote in the full House.
The Clintons’ attorneys have told the committee they will not attend the scheduled appearances, arguing in an eight-page letter that the subpoenas are legally invalid. Republicans counter that repeated delays and refusals to set new dates warrant enforcement of the subpoenas.
If the contempt resolution is adopted by the House, it could lead to criminal referral to the Department of Justice — though such cases often become protracted legal battles and rarely result in jail time.
The Epstein probe has drawn attention to the social and political ties linking high-profile figures to Epstein’s circle, with the committee also securing and reviewing documents and photos from Epstein’s estate in recent months.
