During the broadcast, NBC’s Melissa Stark reported that she spoke with Lauryn Rush prior to the game.
Lauryn reportedly told Stark that Cooper did not want her to buy a plane ticket to Philadelphia because of high prices.

Cooper Rush’s wife uses airline miles to pay for flight
Stark finished her report by saying that Lauryn ended up using her airline miles to pay for the flight.
Fans on Twitter bashed Cooper for being cheap despite playing in the NFL, saying it was probably just an excuse not to have her there.

One user pointed out that the comments made by Cooper’s wife were intentional so that the franchise would give him a raise.
